Error message: “Unable to connect” Windows (Zinio Reader 4)

If you receive the error message “Unable to connect” on the Zinio Reader 4, we would recommend that you use the online reader, which can be found on www.zinio.com - “YOUR LIBRARY”. Within the online reader you have full access to your historical and current library.  Alternatively we have offline Apps available for iOS and Android Devices

Our technical teams are busy developing a new state of the art offline reader (not dependent on 3rd party technology), so are providing very limited technical support.  

You can attempt to follow the instructions below as they have proved to resolve this issue for some of our customers (however, in our experience the simplest solution is to use the Zinio Online Reader to read your publication):

Please check the following depending upon your internet browser:

  • Chrome:  Go to settings – show advanced settings>network>change proxy settings>advanced – scroll down to security and ensure that both SSL and TLS are enabled
  • Explorer: Go to library>Internet options>advanced-scroll down to security and ensure that both SSL and TLS are enabled
  • Firefox: Go to Open Menu>Options>Advanced>Network –Settings>Use system proxy system
